Workflow of a metal project
There are many steps from creating an idea to turning it into reality. At our fabricating shop It is rewarding to witness, better yet to take part in the cycle of a project. From receiving a drawing, goING through details, takING measurements and starting production there are many steps along the way. Here is a typical workflow for a metal project:
First step is collecting as much information about your project as possible. This includes what the final product will be used for, if exterior or interior use, location and measurements, preferred material (stainless, aluminum, mild steel etc.), and finish.
Once we have all information, we go on site and confirm measurements. If shop drawings are required for a structural project, we send the measurements to our drafting technologist. Shop drawings are developed to show how the project will be manufactured and fabricated including welding connections. We review the shop drawings and send them to our structural engineer for review and approval. Once approved, it is sent to you, the customer for approval. Once client approves, the material is ordered and we start fabrication.
Once fabrication is complete, time for the finish! Depending on use, it can be raw finish, regular paint or primer, hot dip galvanized and/or powder coat finish. We have been working with the same companies for over a decade to get a consistent and best quality galvanize and powder coat finishes. We always inspect the final product and finish, before it leaves our shop.
The next and final step is installation or delivery if required. And your project is complete! Voilà!
